על האירוע

Amendment No. 18 to the Legal Qualifications Law, which entered into force in 2017, carried with it a new social line, existing in other countries like Canada and the US, according to which people with disabilities are entitled to live their lives according to their will, choice and desire while receiving respect, independence , As far as possible, and their participation, as far as possible, in the important decisions made in their affairs.

As part of this amendment, a number of important legal tools have been added, including: continuous power of attorney, supported decision making, preliminary guidelines and an expression of will document, relating to the appointment of an alternate guardian in the future.

The lecture will focus on the ongoing power of attorney. This legal tool, which is a substitute for guardianship, allows each adult to determine how and by whom his or her affairs will be handled in the future, when he or she will not be able to handle them on his or her own. The purpose of the power of attorney is to enable a person to entrust decision-making in his case to one or more persons whom he trusts, in various matters (personal, medical or property).
